YOU decide your ‘chances’ of success.

Does it feel like time goes by faster when you get older? It seems like just yesterday we were talking about how 2012 would be for you and what you wanted to accomplish this year. It’s helpful sometimes to do a quick check in with yourself and see how you’re tracking with the goals you set for yourself back in January.
It is not too late to realize whatever goals you had set for yourself. Even if you haven’t thought about your goals in months, it doesn’t matter right now. If you’ve been watching the Olympics, it’s inspirational to see how anything can happen. There have been amazing comebacks and incredible stories of people winning despite all odds. It’s the same way for your life, whether you know it or not.
Today, write an affirmation in first person. Be completely unreasonable with your belief and your expectation. Decide what you really WANT to get done today, not what is “realistic”. Then go after it.
99% of people in the world allow the inertia of life to dictate their results. Statistics are for average people, and averages are for normal people. If you live by average and what’s statistically likely, you’ll never get anywhere great. Statistically speaking, I should still be selling mufflers back in Kansas!
When people ask me “what are the average chances of success?”, I don’t know how to answer that.
I believe that your chances of having the results of the 1% of the most successful people in the world are 100% guaranteed if you do the same things that those 1% of people do. Anything less than that, and you won’t. If you haven’t gotten anywhere, it’s because you aren’t doing what the 1% do. That’s just the truth of it.
My goal here is to challenge you and piss you off about what you’ve been doing to change things. Because if you don’t do anything different, you’re still going to be stuck in the same place you are now.
What is going to motivate you to get completely out of your comfort zone? Get completely unrealistic with your actions today. You have to make a radical shift in your life if you’re going to get different results. I can tell you this because I’ve experienced a huge personal change in the last month myself. I consider myself a professional entrepreneur so I’m always looking to hone my craft and get better, but I had no idea what I was in for when I stayed with Jim Bunch out in California the last several weeks. It’s been a total paradigm shift in the way I approach my life, and it’s already made a world of difference in my mindset. And that’s what can happen to you right here, right now if you just forget about reason and average!
Being reasonable right now, the conscious part of your brain is rationalizing what I am saying to you. That’s normal.
Because we are NOT programmed for success. We are programmed for survival. We keep ourselves in a state where we can prove to ourselves that we are surviving. Survival isn’t good enough – it’s for animals. Screw survival. You’re here because you want an amazing life that’s bursting with abundance. That’s why you joined PRO, and that’s what you can help thousands of people get as well. But you have to get it yourself first.
Stop accepting the absolute of your circumstances. Be completely unreasonable with what you’re going to do today. And if this gives you a moment of clarity about the possibilities of today, hold onto that and use it.
Society is dying for leadership. People will follow you even if they don’t believe in themselves because they’ll believe in your belief. Show them that, and you’ll be a leader and empower yourself to change your circumstances in ways you never did (or thought you could) before.
Explode your comfort zone. By the end of the day, you’ll say to yourself “holy crap, what did I just do?” The people around you will be thankful to have you in their life. You’ll be addicted to the new found space you’ve created and the way it feels to change your life that way.

I agree Jay that success is not a normal reaction to life. But with a dream – one that is focused upon can come true. The road to being in the 1% is not one that is dropped in your lap. Work, learning new skills and help with encouragement along the way increase the probability to 100% that anyone can be in the 1%.
Yes, You hit the nail on the head, I like it.
I took a plunge and resigned from my job in Dec 2011 (which was very risky)so I could complete a book I started with a friend in 2001. Life got in the way for both of us over the years and then she passed away in Feb 2011 while I was overseas. From January this year, from 6am to 10pm every day, 7 days a week, until today I researched and wrote. Today is the day I hand over to the publisher. I am relieved, elated and feel I’ve completed something very worthwhile in my life and fulfilled my commitment to my friend to complete this book. Net proceeds from the book are going to a local not-for -profit organisation who provide assistance to indigenous people here in Sydney. I will now be focusing on the book’s marketing and selling etc. Book launch is early 2013. The book’s website is http://www.tastesandtraditions.com. This last year I’ve lived like a recluse, barely leaving my room. I’ve been very focused in pursuing my goal. I’ve paid the price socially and financially. However, the reward has been self-discovery. I know myself very well now. It is time for me to re-emerge into the world and start living. I now ask ‘what’s next?’ The answer is to continue to do something that provides meaning and fulfilment. I am trying to explore ways to do that while earning. teresa
Dear Jay,
I am grateful to read this “provocative” write-up of yours. It has spurred me to remember what I promised myself since January this year, which I never did. I will do something now. God bless you.
Okon.
Hi Jay,
Your are very correct, if anyone can make a change its always the very person who wants to succeed in life with a “difference”. Any one can succeed but the real measure is what the person’s contribution to the society at large has been during their lifetime.
Just looking after your own family is just not enough to measure the success, it has to go beyond the norm.
The abundance of money, good health, a stable and a happy family is just the start for a measure of success.
Keep enjoying life…
regards
parvendra
Did you Piss me off? NO… Did you Challenge me to do something radically different? Yes! I am not going to be a yes-man and agree with everything someone says just because they are more successful than I have been to this point in life. That lowers the value of the information and actually disrespects that persons achievements. To agree or disagree is Moot, unless you can believe that what is said to you can be accomplished by you. Isn’t that what it is really all about? BELIEF! The only way someone can “Piss You Off” is if you allow them to. I love to be challenged. When someone I look to for guidance says to me what you just wrote to all, I say Ok that’s a challenge I will accept and then prove to the world that I can do it. Thanks Jay for the Article, the challenge, and the Mentorship. Nothing can control you But YOU! Accepting the idea of doing something radical each day is way to help one get outside their Comfort Zone and achieve more than they would have had they stayed comfortable.
Thanks for keeping me “uncomfortable”
Right on Jay. We have to kick ourselves in the butt daily and ‘exercise’ our actions daily in order to look back and say, “Did I do that?” And it be something wonderful. God Bless you and yours.
Isabella
this is so true i totally agree with everything that was said but on the other hand no matter how badly i want this money is still my road block which i dont have in order too support this training this is the best i have seen yet believe me i would love to become a pro u student.
You said it, most people do want to leave their comfort zone, they do want make change. You have to yourself enough is enough and move on and explore the world of apportunity. God gave us ideas, it upon us, men to perfect them and become tangible things.
